First up on the list is France, one of the hidden gems on the Atlantic coast is a little place called Hossegor, a sleepy little seaside town home to some of the worlds best waves and food. The area is situated on the south west coast of France very near the border of Spain. This magical place is well worth the visit if your a keen surfer looking for a warm break during the Easter. The food will not disappoint either with a wide array of pastrys and breads to chose from. This place is an amazing and magical place that I will continue to return to each year with more and more excitement each time. Well worth the trip and money!!
Next up on the list we have Portugal. The land of tasty meats and cheap wine! Portugal is Europe’s version of Brazil with its flowing Portuguese language as well as its ambient party and night life. The secret and quiet spot called ericeira, an easy going, laid back fishing village about 30 minute drive from Lisbon is a must see. The village is home to arguably Portugal’s best beaches and best waves with its sheer cliffs and stunning landscapes. The days in Portugal are very chilled out, typical day would consist of waking up around 10am or so and making your way down to the pastry shop to get a coffee and a pastel de nata(a delicacy in Portugal), then making your way to check the waves at the beach, surfing all day, eating the most amazing seafood for lunch and dinner and to top it off watching a spectacular sunset in the evenings followed by a night of partying and good company. Portugal is the gift that keeps on giving and a place I hope you visit soon!
My next travel experience was too the fantastic coastal town of taghazout in Morocco. This seaside town is again home to some of the worlds most amazing waves and beaches that stretch the length of the town. The village is teeming with eager surfers and tourists looking for an amazing wave and delicious tastes and smells in the humble markets within the centre of the village which offer a wide variety of spices and herbs to create memories of this incredible place. The sunsets in this part of the world are by far and away the most spectacular spectacle due to the way the sun hits the horizon and creates a purple haze across the Arabian night sky. Truly a sight to behold and a trip you will always remember and be wishing to come back to!
